i had to bump this, it grows on me every time i listen and is just so gorgeous. also just realised the lead singer is female which i feel stupid about considering i've been following this band since 2014, but yeah her androgynous voice is definitely a huge part of this album's appeal.

Need to revisit, this didn't make as much impression on me as 'The Moon Rang...' but that could easily be my failing - I've only spun it a few times.

I've considered a 4.5 but I'm comfortable with a strong 4. Def the sleeper hit of 2017

it's great and goes very nicely into at home

i feel like this embodies a ton of modern pop tropes which was a bit off-putting for me but then it puts a really elegant and pretty twist on them

this is a worst album of the year contender for me

I don’t know that I even recognise the tropes you mentioned alien, though I will likely be dropping all my 2017 5s to 4.5 they were likely quite reactionary
