I liked both The Curse and ADGOY, but neither one had all great songs. I only ended up liking a few from each CD. But the ones I do like, I like a lot.
Edit: And I think this band has so much potential, if they'd just try to leave the Metalcore genre. The screaming brings down the band, while the lyrics are pretty well written. This Message Edited On 09.19.06

Am I the only one here who actually like Alex's scream?

yes

Alex is an awesome screamer, and he is doing his own thing. He has a very harsh screaming style that is very difficult to do properly without damaging your voice. Considering Alex's been screaming for over 10 years now and recently (or well, 3 years ago) started to sing as well, I am pretty sure he is doing it right.
Anyway I really like his vocals, they are instantly recognizable and fit really well with the Atreyu sound. They were a bit on the weak side on Suicide Notes but here they are perfect.

what are you talking about
|

he's being a little sarcastic, seeing how you just gave a mini bio of the band that most people are already aware of.
|
| |
I was just trying to explain why Alex is a good vocalist
|

from a technical viewpoint, of course people have their own preferences, I mean I cant stand the guy in In Flames, and still that band has much higher ratings than this oneThis Message Edited On 05.01.09

yes, every single person on this site can have their own opinion, whether good or bad, as long as they can back it up. you gave your reasons for liking atreyu, which is great, no one is complaining.
but for in flames, it goes how most people feel about them. one person not liking them (you) is just a pinprick compared to the many who love them on this site.

alex only started screaming right on this cd, he was fucking up his voice on the first two
|
| |
He was fucking up his voice for 7 years then but still leaving it intact enough to start scream properly and even sing on this cd

you mean he, being the genius he is, consciously made the decision to only sort of fuck up his voice just so he could do it right later?
|
| |
no I am saying that I actually don't think he was fucking up his voice as such, considering he managed for 7 years, but that you may think he made his screaming sound more appealing and accessible on this albumThis Message Edited On 05.01.09

you can't make a scream sound more appealing, I promise you, m. shadows did the same thing, except he passed his limit, my friend did the same thing and he's about to blow out his voice, alex just figured out how to do it right in time
|
| |
Well but I am pretty sure you agree that Alex sounds a lot better on A Death-grip on Yesterday than on Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses, i e he changed his scream so it sounds more appealing

...and I give up

didn't m shadows have to do an operation of his vocal cords because he never screamed properly in the first place?
