how did we get so dank?

Well...this was bland. Sucks, I really liked their debut. Closer is pretty good, everything else is just meh to really bad.

Oh you made a real review

I think the worst thing about this album is that the songs are all great on their own but when put together they just become super generic

Does anyone want the old review back? They could be the first review time share on Sputnik

Ok, the original review gets Monday mornings and Sundays 3-7pm GMT
The second review gets all other times

Ah, the return of Doof's reviewing voice... I'm sure album is a heap of trash and will avoid.

I usually return on a negative note :D
I'll try and put up a positive review of something soon, and I promise it won't be a Tiger Lillies album

You are too smart for your own good Johnny

It's not that bad. I'd take this over the majority of 'mainstream' 'rock' any day of the week. Needless to say it's still shit.

I'm not even sure what mainstream rock is now? Maroon 5?
|
| |
Rock is simply no longer a mainstream genre. The closest you can get to "mainstream" rock is the more popular "alternative" acts.

Maroon 5 is pop. They haven't been rock for a long time

Mainstream rock is pretty much nonexistent, I can't even think of a single rock band in the top 40 right now. Rappers are the rock stars of our generation.
|
| |
Mumford and Sons' last was probably the most recent truly mainstream rock album.

oh god.. if that doesn't say enough of the state of mainstream rock..
|

Lol.

This whole 'uninspired & average = insanely, relentlessly and insulting bad' thing is cringe worthy levels of obnoxious. Yeah it is boring and overdone but there's a rating for that. 2.5. I personally think it's about a 2.

For you 'competent' music that has no particular value beyond that is worthy of a 2.5?
I'm not signing the band, you expect a level of musical professionalism in any band that release mainstream music, that gets them in the building - in other words a 0/5. Whatever an album does beyond that adds to that basic 'score'. This album really does next to nothing beyond that most workmanlike requirement of getting the album made.
This is the 'worst' 2017 album I've listened to.
