I find it funny that someone keeps going around saying "Sputnik is the only place on the internet shitting on this album." That line is total nonsense. For one, it would seem to me that Sputnik is one of the few places giving this album on honest critique, being unafraid to point out its undoubted shortcomings. This isn't some faultless masterpiece deserving of unanimous praise, end of story. Not only this, the worst review on here is a 2.5, and the average rating a 3.6, which to me seems pretty reflective of the reality of this album.

One thing I'm sour about is that my review received one vote the day it was published, and in the following weeks, never received a single other. If it's not a good review, I'd expect negative votes. But if it's not bad enough to warrant a vote either negative or positive, I'd expect some feedback as to why it's lacking, of which I've received none (and I know this review could be better). Contrast this with the brand new review for this album that has already been voted on 4 times. Is it because people are not keen on the idea of giving reinforcement to a critical review of a highly anticipated album?

how dare ye call me "someone"!

yea u suk evo!
that pos/neg thing is weird, but given the lackluster attention this album has garnered I suppose it makes sense nobody cares to comment on the review, either. But it's not like those matter at all anyway.

I know. Im just the worst. An yeah, this album has really barely made a blip on the radar around here surprisingly.

I wouldn't take the lack of pos's personally, this is definitley well written. Dede probably just posted at the right time of day or something, not like he's outpacing you by much.

I doubt it, I'd say it looks more like this album wasn't so highly anticipated here lol

Thanks for the insight Scuro.
And yeah, this simply has strayed too far away from the qualities that made so many people fall in love with The Voice of Steel. In its own right, I'm sure this album has its market, but it's incredibly hard to stop oneself from being disappointed if you came to love this band through VoS. Though that said, I'm in no way against the style of music played on this album--I just truly think this is a flawed album with awkward melodies and a way too long runtime.
