Can I buy one of their guitars?

Check out the garbage bins outside their studio, they probably threw them all away

This isn't nearly as bad as I expected 3 tracks in. Guess my musical taste has gone to shit?

Good Goodbye and Talking to Myself are unlistenable

Which one do you prefer buddy?
I was asking it because there's no guitar in this album at all, LOL, thanks!

When you hire writers outside your own band, you know it's going to be
BAD

Talking to Myself has a brief guitar intro. And the last track has some weird fingerpicked stuff as well. That's all the guitar I could find on the album

Rush's hold your fire has more guitar than this album.
That's too offensive for me

They're not obligated to necessarily make harder stuff, but they have to make something passably interesting or energetic.

Where's orgy and deadsy GOD DAMMIT?!?!?

Agreed Verm. I've actually been a Linkin Park apologist forever and enjoyed all their albums but the singles from this album were just indefensible.

There's like guitar on every song on this album. Frankly you must go out of your way to not notice them

All I'm saying is, they'll make a killing off of this album. Criticizing someone for making watered down radio pop crap is honestly retarded. You would do it too if the capacity existed to make as much money. I criticized nickelback for it years ago and it makes very little sense to me now

"Criticizing someone for making watered down radio pop crap is honestly retarded"
uhh whaa

I understand what you're both saying - on one hand, it's dumb to sacrifice your integrity by making watered down pop...but at the same time, like Gyro alluded to, many in the situation to make a ton of money by doing so would. I'd say it's certainly fair to criticize the direction and the decision, but at the same time I sort of understand why they'd do it.

"All I'm saying is, they'll make a killing off of this album."
Will they though? In the context of the type of music they're doing on here and the obvious target audience, none of the singles picked up much steam, and Linkin Park is more then established enough at this point to where if this album was gonna blow up commercially we would have already kind of known it because of said singles' performances.
This album will be talked about for like two weeks and disappear, I guarantee it.

There are plenty of starving artists in the world. If I could produce something right now with artistic integrity that wouldn't sell vs something watered down for mass consumption that would make me mad $, I'd go for the latter
|
| |
Yeah I can get on board with what sowing said. I mean sure it sucks compromising integrity, but sometimes it just makes sense to

I think for me the ideal situation would be to make bloated, infectious pop and get your money early on. Then you can "mature" and crate artistically relevant material from there once you've made a living.
