I really like flyleaf. I love the lyrics, the beliefs behind them, and Lacey can scream pretty damn good.

ummm...The only similarity between Flyleaf and Evanescence is the gender of their vocalist. I liked this band at first. Then I realized I just really hadn't heard a girl do that to her voice. It pains me to say this, but Amy Lee is a much better vocalist than Lacey. The first song I heard from this band was Breath Today and I thought, "Did Avril Lavigne join a numetal band!?"

I think this album comes from a band not sure about their sound. They also simply don't have a lot of tallent to speak of. This Message Edited On 02.29.08

It's all pretty boring, and the singer isn't really that great either.

I heard about these guys from a bud who said they were badass. He was like: yeah that Lacey shes got some crazy vocals and after listening to the album in it's entirety I was dissapointed...I thought this chick was going to be hardcore like Otep Shamaya or Straight Line Stitch.

Meh.

All I can say is that the first time I heard So I Thought it INSTANTLY became one of my favorite songs of all time.

That NEVER fucking happens to me.

I have a feeling many of you started listening to the album, didn't like it and therefore didn't listen to it all the way through. Perfectly understandable. I highly recommend, though, that you give that last track just one listen, because despite any reasons you have for disliking the band, the raw emotion and incredible lyrics that spur the song are enough to rope in anyone who listens to music for what it is made for.

I guess I could understand your dislike for I'm So Sick only because it seems to be riding the coattails of some other post-hardcore/nu-metal bands.

I never said I didn't like Paramore.

Also, I'm So Sick would cool enough if it didn't feel so forced.

It's honestly just not the strongest of all the songs I've heard from Flyleaf. Cassie and All Around Me are really good tracks.

@ spinlight: the chauvinist comment was at EC.

I never said I didn't like Paramore.
Covered Paramore once, so they'll always have a special place in my heart for that, but I don't really like anything I've heard from them

hot chicks and guitars always equate to liking. If she didn't have guitars the music wouldnt be credible so it would be a 1.

i hate crushcrushcrush
3rd is true. I hate Crushcrushcrush. The rest I've heard is ok nothing special. Doesn't mean I dislike them, I put Misery Business on every once in a while.
