Yeah it initially washes over you but just like every song on the album it grabs you and won’t let go..

Yeah, this album seems so harmless at first. Then it gets you.

I really hope that's the case: gave this a couple listens yesterday and, while nice, nothing really stuck out as super memorable.

I'm taking it on y'all's word that this is a grower because first listen did very little for me. Opener is lovely though.

Hopefully you're right. Take what I say now with a grain of salt but it just seemed very plain.

It is a little plain...but it just has this depressive underbelly to it that eventually grabbed me.

Again, you might listen to more stuff in this ballpark so you might not be as blown away as I am.

I only know Aimee Mann from one thing - “ Time Stand Still”

I gave it several chances but didn't find much for me here.

Never heard of her before. But this LP is really good. Goose Snow Gone is amazing.

There are definitely some inconsistencies here, but overall I think it's great. Stuck In The Past is a weak follow-up to Goose Snow Cone which kind of kills the flow of the album early on, but it ends on a bang imo.

Last 3 tracks are my favorite

I dunno, Philly Sinks (or Philly Stinks according to the Sput tracklist) is easily the weakest here for me.

Stuck in the Past i enjoy quite a lot

to each their own man! some tracks feel like growers, but the closing trio of songs just felt instantly accessible, quirky and enjoyable to me. Which could just mean I'll grow tired of them faster lol

I guess Stuck in the Past is pretty chill... listening to the album again rn, but it's hard to follow up a song like Goose Snow Cone. At least we can agree that's one hell of an opener.

Philly Sinks is amazing, one of the best here.

Goose Snow Cone is one of the best songs here IMO, so it'd be a difficult song to follow. I haven't listened to this in a while, maybe I'll give it another go. It only stuck with me for a little while after it grew on me.

I agree, it is a little on the plain side, but there are some good cuts on here and overall it's a pleasant listen.

So yeah, this is very enjoyable but after a solid few listens it's not revealing a whole ton for me. I get what it's going for and I appreciate the consistency of the vibe it maintains but I can't quite call it a "great" album.
