Yeah, it's massive, I think I've only hear the first 5 songs and they are all long as hell. The opener is really cool though.

this guy's lyricism really pisses me off, it's so fucking lame like that one pretentious kid in high school who used to watch anime and now wants to be a journalist

i used to love his lyrics. love their earlier material and think it's some of the most affecting stuff out there, especially songs like carry me, ohio. but now he just seems to ramble on and try to be as ironic as possible

I'll probably end up listening. I liked some stuff on Benji a lot, I just hate it when he drags a song out 4 minutes longer than it should be.

like seriously does this guy know what emotions are, he sounds so lifeless, there's no charisma in him whatsoever, that joke part of philadelphia cop could have been funny if it wasn't done by kozelek and kermit the frog

album is gonna end up a 4 for me probably

also he mentions david bowie a 1000 times throughout the album

"As a writer of the English language, Kozelek gets perfect marks; as a writer of songs, the jury is still out."

No, that jury ended session decades ago. Down Colorful Hill proves that Kozelek isn't just a good songwriter, but one of the best. Maybe you just aren't familiar with Kozelek's best stuff. Listen to the Red House Painters discography. Sun Kil Moon is good, but Red House Painters were incredible. Especially the first three records.

Yeah Mark can clearly write fantastic songs. Anyone who listened to RHP or the the first 3 SKM albums knows that. Now he just doesn't give a fuck. And I love it.

First Doof rates Ghost In the Shell a 4/5 on RYM, now Digibro is praising Sun Kil Moon

this is a beautiful relationship in the making : )
