This album is diabolical. I can understand how some may find it abrasive or hard to get through, I don't personally I find it delectable in its remorse and morbidness. Here, Nico is the Nina Simone for Nietzsche readers and closet existentialists. Avant-Folk is one of the silliest tags i've heard, but I can understand the genre procurers predicament when attempting to categorize this ostensible gem of an album. Clearly, the Marble Index proves the appellation 'Ice Queen' without the flying colours, they just sort of staunched remain.
