Okay first off you're kind of right but at the same time you aren't because that didn't seem to be Lucas's intentions with Anakin's character. Second off that doesn't explain why almost every other character in the trilogy is poorly portrayed.

Lucas went way too shallow with some of the side plots (most specifically the master sifodyis thing from II (yes I've seen the clone wars arch where it patches this up but still)), and went way too deep with the politics.

I agree both agree and disagree. Lucas def expanded the world and the lore and all that which is one of my favorite parts of Star Wars, but the dude is not a good director by any means which def hurt the films themselves.
