I do think their debut is one of the best alt-rock records of the 90s, although I'm quickly coming around to liking this one a bit more.

I'm not certain if you'll love it or like it or whatever - It's a lovely balance between their prior pixies worship indie and shades of their later okay-ish album The Meadowlands

Great album. They basically went full-on power pop here. But the dark, brooding next one "The Meadowlands" remains their masterpiece for my taste.

“Safe and Comfortable” came on on Spotify earlier, damn that’s a good song. Guess that’s another sign I need to re-evaluate this.
