I find nothing inherently wrong or bad about nu metal, but it's not a genre I would willfully or actively listen to. Review isn't very well written either anyway, I've seen far better track by tracks
Nu metal has deftones, soad, old LP, old korn, sevendust, crossbreed, amen, snot, nottingface, old static x, spineshank, slipknot, old mudvayne, nonpoint, rickets, sixstitch, spineshank which are or were very good bands. Even albums like S.C.I.E.N.C.E of incubus has a lot of nu metal elements and that album is excellent. The problem is that stuff like limp bizkit and crazytown was beyond laughable, besides the albums of slayer, metallica and machine head with nu metal elements were chessy and most of the metalcore, alt rock and post hardcore bands that try to recreate the nu metal sound ( of mice and men, issues, bmth) are doing a bad job, only cane hill and dayshell do a decent job in that area

I only assumed otherwise cos this review was posted elsewhere but turns out it is his/her first review. Yeah kinda feel bad now
Nah I don't judge nu metal based on those few like Limp Bizkit, etc like a lot of people tend to do, it's just generally not my cup of tea although I consider Korn's s/t and Iowa some of my favorite albums of the 00s

Lots of negativity around here. For those of you who have done reviews, I'm sure your first reviews were shit as well. In fact, MY first reviews were awful as well. This is my very first review, back from when I was on ProgArchives under my old name (I reviewed In Absentia):
"This is very atmospheric and alternative music. Maybe a little too alternative. The early Porcupine Tree was like this. I'm a tad disappointed.
The album starts off with Blackest Eyes. This is actually a beautifully crafted song, with nice melodies and good metal sections. But when I say alternative, I mean songs like Creator Has a Mastertape, Strip the Soul, and such. I did enjoy some some songs, such as Heartattack in a Laybay, Blackest Eyes, and Sound of Muzak. However, it still sounds alternative. I wish Porcupine Tree were back to their original music.
Blackest Eyes:9.5/10 Trains:7.5/10 Lips of Ashes:7/10 Sound of Muzak:9/10
Gravity Eyelids:6/10 Wedding Nails:6/10 Prodigal:6/10 .3:6/10 Creator Has a Mastertape:5.5/10
Heartattack in a Layby:8/10 Strip the Soul:8.5/10 Collapse the Light into Earth:7.5/10"
That was all the way back in early 2008

How does someone actually get those on their review unless they do it on purpose now, given Sput's scripting has presumably improved a tad in the last ten years
