Hey man. I enjoyed reading your review, your writing is good, but I couldn't give it a pos because after reading it I still have absolutely no idea what this is album sounds like. A majority of the review is just acknowledging the similarities and differences between previous releases, but you don't ever really describe what the music sounds like. Unless I missed something, I finished the review wondering what genre this even is. Is it black metal, trip-hop, ambient?

Also, noticed this.

I think the reviewer needs to go back and listen to her first 3 studio albums again. The style of 0, & by extension 0%, are more anomalies that sit better alongside some of her collaborative output, if anything Mahoroboshiya is more a return to the style of her early output which was just vocals and guitar, classical and occasionally jaunty, but none of it's field recording permeated. The whole shy / revealing herself narrative, beyond the fact she's put her face on the cover, just doesn't hold up for me. If anything this feels a slightly more reserved, personal outing than 0, where she's purposely set aside the influences of her collaborative work and moved back to her own personal style.

i'm not super familiar with aoba's work but yeah i guess that also illuminates the riskiness of relying heavily on comparisons

to be honest, I had 0 and 0% in mind while writing this, but I do know her other records to a point where I know what they're like in comparison

Haven't heard of her, but I'm loving what I'm hearing. Going to have to give this a spin, and check out her other stuff as well.

No problem man

I think this may be her biggest album yet, since there was quite decent promotion for it
