Does anybody else hear "more than a feeling" on the first track's intro?

Now that you brought it up i do
Album would probably be a 4 if not for the lyrics. Some of these songs are growing on me more (say goodbye, outlaws, too dumb to die)
Still think still breathing, youngblood, and ordinary world are pretty weak, but id rather listen to all 3 of them than most of uno and dos

lyrics might be a bit lacking, but musically this sounds like old Green Day, with just a splash of American Idiot. However I enjoyed the trilogy, so I don't really know if anyone should take my opinion seriously

So far, Bang Bang isn't as big as previous first singles. It's been a while since they were topping all charts and the trilogy's commercial flop didn't help. Maybe the album sales will be bigger.

A solid album reflecting on the olden days? Gotta take a gander today.

This album is pretty take it or leave it, if you're a big fan of these guys it's a nice return to form. If not it's pretty meh but it's all good.

I do like Green Day, warts and all. I just never was in love with them like my sister was during their American Idiot era. But when they're good they're very good.

i enjoy troubled times the most, idk in this current political and social shitstorm the world in, it's a bit reassuring to know Green Day as big as they are, feel the same. I know that's a real pussy thing to say but all the shit going on right now I'm genuinely worried for my future

That's not pussy, that's just common sense

Best thing they've done since AI. Would probably be a 3.5 if it wasn't for the last two songs, both dragged and didn't really add anything imo.

The last two songs are two of the best on the album though.

Here's an edited tracklist i made just to see how it would work
1. Somewhere now
2. Bang bang
3. Revolution radio
4. Bouncing off the wall
5. Too dumb to die
6. Youngblood (its lyrics are awful and its really stupid, but its a little fun tbh. Probably bc its fun to make fun of)
7. Outlaws
8. Say goodbye
9. Troubled times
10. Forever now
Still breathing is removed bc its weak and lifeless and ordinary world just shouldnt be on the album
Like, it was a last minute addition bc of the awful looking movie billie's starring in

This tracklist would've worked better. I'm sure they could've added another punchier song instead of Ordinary World or Still Breathing.

Good to hear GD outside of the context of that awful trilogy again. This feels kind of like a late career self titled album in which every song is kind of a muddled blend of everything the band has done. At times it's nice and at other times the similarities are just annoying. There was only one song on here that I hated (Outlaws) and the rest are good but not great. This probably comes in just under 21st Century Breakdown and Warning for me, but still miles ahead of the trilogy bullshit and their earliest albums where everything sounded like shit.

Dude Kerplunk and warning are two of their best.

I love Kerplunk so I guess I actually just mean 1039/Slappy. Warning is still like a 3 or 3.5 for me I forget and probably have to update my ratings.

39/smooth is much better than this one tho in my opinion.
