what would also help is to signal awareness of unpopuar the album is and addresses that upfront. "i know a lot of people hate this, but heres why u should like it like i do"

pretty much what others have said. i never really read your bvb reviews because they look fucking long but after reading through its because theres just a lot of filler in it. the flow is weird, heres a part i made up, heres me talking about the songs, heres more fanfic, heres more talk about songs, etc. and when you do talk about the songs it reminds me of those track by track reviews. this song has good sounds and all that. this song has the vocals that sing and whatnot. and i dont think your whole story thing works, it detracts from music youre actually reviewing and it doesnt really even provoke emotion because its made up. itd be more interesting to just hear you talk about how this album affected you.

i did like the opening paragraph though and i guess this is technically well written in the sense you put words in an order that form cohesive thought that can convey things. i think your skills are just a bit misguided.

My problem with it, is when you cut out all the fanfic and just get to what you think of the music, it isn't actually that descriptive and doesn't help me understand why you gave it a 5 other than sheer fanboy-ness.
"The constant adrenaline rush from the varied fretwork is extremely enjoyable. The feelings cast forth by the overall atmosphere reflect an introspective change, one that would bring forth a chain of new motivation to anyone looking to improve who they are," doesn't tell me why I would like this. Not really trying to make a dig at you, you clearly are passionate about this and far be it from me to tell you how you feel is wrong, I just don't "get" it.

@Conc: I completely understand what you're talking about, and honestly, while I was editing it I partially felt the same way. More than likely I'm going to ditch the story version of my review for Set the World on Fire and give it a personal review (a style I've never done before, but I've been meaning to try it out). I'm going to try how the album affected me approach for BVB's Set the World on Fire (since it's literally my favorite album of all time)

@Nazz: I know you're not trying to make a dig at me don't worry, I totally get it. I should have put more meat in terms of the actual technical critique. I don't know if I'm ever going to try this story type approach in reviews again.
