Tracks 8,9 and 10 are 5/5 easily.

I do think this was heavier than La Gargola, and this is still a more experimental album than anything between This Type of Thinking and Hats Off to the Bull. Still, La Gargola had better songwriting, in my opinion.
This might grow on me down the line, so I can't be sure about if I like it or not yet. Solid review, though. Pos.

I don't know aside from that one that was all jarringly electronic the rest of the album just had typical Chevelle repeated to death chug riffs. One of their least dynamic albums in my opinion. Found almost 0 experimentation on this.

I think this album rules, but I agree with Ash in both statements. It seems since La Gargola they decided to leave the melodic choruses out. Sure they're messing with the formula, which is cool and all, but maybe adding a couple of songs with catchy choruses, very much like the older singles, would give the album a good balance. And yes, what were they thinking on Enemies? It riffs alright, but the chorus is annoying and the drums are mixed exceedingly loud.
They made some interesting production choices though, like the almost noise rock sound of Last Days, or the headphone-ready Door To Door Cannibals. Also, amping up the bass was a good move, it gives the album sort of a rawer feel. There were moments were it was a bit too loud though, like on 0:58 mark of Got Burned, but it works for the most part.

Bass was the only redeeming thing I found on this and it was purely a change to the mix, hardly a risk or experimental.

True, more of a stylistic choice rather than "experimenting". I liked it a lot though, I'll wait to see how much it grows. Would've been all over this if it was 2004 lol

Does door to door have the same guitar chords as 'take out the gun man'?
I think so

I don't hear it, but the guitar chords in the chorus of Warhol's Showbiz are strikingly similar to the ones of A New Momentum. And I hear several similarities, including the bridges, between Joyride and HOTTB's title track. They seem to be recycling ideas at this point.

Young Wicked's chords reminds me a lot of Sleep Apnea, almost to the point of suspicion.

2:20 on door to door for the similar chords. The vocal melody is quite similar at 3:50.
I've got to be honest. Chevelle have been around for nearly 20 years, you're going to get similarities in the songs, especially since Pete writes most of the songs.
On first listen, my favourites are Got Burned (energy!) Last Days, Rivers.
However, this album is continuing their streak of solid releases which is remarkable, some of it reminds of 'This Type of Thinking' Also getting some 'Vena Sera' vibes.
Also, I think 'Warhol's Showbiz' is about the P0rnography industry.
