Also recently I've heard two incredible 90s albums in the form of the Low [5 rating] and Bedhead [4.5 rating]debuts so it'll have to go some to blow me away like those two have.

Having a hard time wrapping my head around how these guys were able to fit two versions of "Sutro" on this album and actually make it work. This and the fact that both mixes are fantastic songs in their own right speaks to the quality of the songwriting on here.

I wish the album ended with the second version of Sutro, Brace is a kind of awkward afterthought and easily my least favorite song on the album

I don't mind "Brace," I think it adds a nice contrast to the more downbeat rest of the album, but yeah the Supernova Whale mix of "Sutro" would've been a better closer. Its presence already gives the album a coming-full-circle effect; that would've been boosted by having it as the very last song.

I love the ending of Brace personally, contrasts with the rest of the album so well especially at the end. It's like a reminder that it's finished - and it's a tune also. I'm ecstatic this is actually getting listened too.

Also interesting that you mention Low and Bedhead Doof because all 3 of these albums fall on the slowcore side of Indie (this more loosely so) yet this one always resonated with me more than both Low and Bedhead despite checking them first. Maybe I should give em another spin.
