Super solid discog yeah (live albums absolutely included), varied and eclectic too so you may not dig everything of it. It's a whole new level of "is this the same band?". Are you looking for a specific sound/mood?
The above-mentioned Hydra for example has proggy and jazzy flavors but also a couple of straight-up hard rock bangers

Toto's most interesting feature (I think) is the fact that you get some pretty standard 80's pop rock in general by them but performed with great technique by superb session musicians
So it is like Asia
But it works this time

Wouldn't really compare them to Asia because Toto often rock out in their songs, whereas Asia tend to keep the inoffensive nature even in a lot of their heavier stuff. Also, and it's ironic considering Asia's personnel, Toto throw more curveballs and surprises

Yeah I know
Asia is the most dissapointing band ever for me

There's just little to no passion in Asia (that's what I feel, at least), and god they can be so unnervingly cheesy and formulaic. That said I keep XXX in high regards. Especially the song Ghost of a Chance, give it a shot if you never heard it.
Also I know it's silly but it pisses me off that Toto's longer studio song is longer than Asia's haha

Yo sabrutin - whatever sounds most akin to Africa. That sort of insanely catchy chorus and overall nostalgia

Well for starters if you love Africa so much check its live renditions. They obviously have to always play it so it received many shapes with the years. There's a bootleg of a 1982 show where they stretch it to 16 minutes and fill it with some pretty daring sound experimentation. Personally I love this shorter one from the XX compilation (which is not a greatest hits btw): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzegyGxFxIQ
Then you could look at the rest of the African series as (only) I like to call it. So the songs "Mushanga" and "Bottom of Your Soul". Additionally you could check out the song "Spanish Sea", which was actually released a few days ago for the 40th anniversary compilation. It was thrown away in the 80s because it's basically an Africa plagiarism, but if you precisely want more of that feel... it has a cute chorus though gotta say, cute guitar riff. You could also give a shot to "Spanish Steps" and the "Desert Theme" off the Dune soundtrack even if it's instrumental

Lmao an old Volvo plays Africa as the open door chime instead of the typical ding ding

Rosanna is definitely overlong imo but it's a really great live song with the extended solos. I don't think they ever played a version shorter than ~7 minutes

The true hero here is Lovers in the Night, that section between like 2:50-3:20 slays. Aso that guitar solo in the last minute is hot

My favorite Toto's solo is still Hold the Line's
mainstream pick and it's not even that complex but it sounds so godly to me
|
| |
Kinda crazy that one of the greatest rock songs of all time was inspired by Rosanna Arquette.

That's just a joke between her and the band, it's not the actual origin.
"My favorite Toto's solo is still Hold the Line's"
Can't pick one, I'll name three off the top of my head: Caught in the Balance, White Sister (the one in the final minute or so), Wings of Time (off Live in Poland, the one that goes on for like three minutes)
