Doof I'm only 2 listens in and it's already setting some hooks in - tunes are great, lyrics are hitting me pretty hard. I've gotta give t some time to settle in though, the gushing could possibly come down soon.

first time in 2016 that a new album has absolutely blown me away on first listen
for those who know more about CSH than I do...which of their other stuff should I check out first, once I finally get tired of listening to this album on repeat?

Nervous Young Man also has some of his best songs, but it is over 2 hours long, so take caution.

He played Drunk drivers some months ago before it was released and then I was already blown away by it. Vincent was also amazing live.

"(Joe Gets Kicked Out of School For Using) Drugs With Friends (But Says This Isn't a Problem)" for song title of the year.
Also almost every lyric in this album strikes some sort of chord, the man speaks serious truths.

They're a bunch of dum-dums, that's why.

I haven't seen the hate but I'm sure many of his old fans are super pissed about this and going all hipster, saying he "sold out" and the people who like this aren't "real" Car Seat Headrest fans.
The lyrics are amazing on their own but in too of that these are all really well-constructed instrumentally.
And seriously though, "Ballad of the Costa Concordia" is a masterpiece.
