Loving this. Aside from 'Count back from ten' this is really good. Expectations made it almost unreachable for me but there's so much here to like

Jammed coz l have nostalgia related to their first album being a constant when l was like 15. Don't mind this at all, prob one full listen away from a rating.

Have listened to this album quite a bit...

This album is phenomenal. Anthony Greene is Phenomenal. Love it.

And either it's just me being super appreciative of the way this fella drums or he's just outright nasty, cause that's my favorite part of the album.

It's good, but feels familiar, tired and repeated to death. Green has been involved in much better stuff than this, other than CS. Translating the Name,Tiger and the Duke and The Ocean and the Sun all blow this out of the water.

this has Anthony

but s/t has Justin

ffffffff

also, the slushy quiet guitars drive me nutso. I understand Beau wanted Anthony's performance to shine, but come on

also also: first comment, hey how's it goin?

EDIT: it angers me how much better this album could have been, were Justin retained and the mixing better executed. could've been an easy 4 to 4.5

After listening to this album, I have concluded that I like Saosin better with Cove. Don't get me wrong I loved Along the Shadows and Translating the Name as well, but they just sound more matured and focused with their self-titled album.

This really didn't live up to its hype too much. I figured it would have drawn old fans out of the woodwork.

i hold the opposite opinion to the reviewer. Anthony's performance is pretty standard for him; I don't feel like he has progressed much. The rhythm section on the other hand is pretty damn good, but not spectacular. The instruments make this album good.

The unbelievable part is that the band has only one guitarist and he wrote the whole album practically

I actually rather like this. Saosin's ST album is still my favorite thing by them but I like how Anthony sounds here. Much easier to get into than practically anything by Circa Survive (a band I've attempted many times to like, but which always comes across as a disorganized, unmemorable mess.)

Also, this is nitpicky but nobody was wearing skinny jeans in 2003, that wouldn't pick up for another two or three years.

I feel like this would be an amazing Circa Survive album but it's only a decent Saosin album

Would've been a 3.0 if the last two tracks weren't bonus for deluxe edition which I don't take into account when rating an album. Hate it when bands do that deluxe shite. Especially with sick songs like Drinking from the Fountain, which is probably the best one along with The Silver String.
