I've come to peace with Burn the Witch - it feels a bit like a HTTT track to me for some reason but the album version at least sounds a little fuller than that video version.

its not an awful song and i agree it has some HTTT vibes going on, but i still think a) having it be the opener and b) having it on this album at all are v bizarre moves on the band's part. it just doesnt fit in with the vibe of this album, which other than that song is v consistent

Yeah I do like the track, but I find the transition from it to Daydreaming awkward. I'd put Daydreaming in between Tinker Tailor and Decks Dark, followed by True Love Waits to finish.

I think they wanted to make that 'Little Englander' criticism right now - think the politics of the time encouraged them to put it on, esp as an opener

This Blackstar and Terminal Redux are the main three aoty contenders for me.

Might change to a 4, depending on the 10th listen. Not enough stand-outs or mind blowing moments aside from Glass Eyes, Daydreaming and Ful Stop.

It's a solid 4.7 out of me. The album has kept looping on my end and the flow never feels forced. Loving this record to bits.

lo-figuy - that might be the weakness of this album agreed

Present Tense I'd definitely add to those 4 now after listening to the album 10 or so times (in 24 hours...)

Thanks, Tunalad~

I disagree with what Ars had said about the last track. I think it's a great closer. The reworked version sounds solid, imo.

The record isn't aiming at standout tracks, imo. It IS focusing on an atmosphere build up and breakdown, though. It works well for me.

This review is filled with lies, but at least it's well written.

The sound at the end of Daydreaming is Nigel Godrich snoring while trying to mix this record
