tom delonge is still a doosh for hyping it the way he did. if theres anything worse than hype, its self-hype. of all the similarities they have to U2, the self-centered frontman is the most obvious one.

You're a "doosh" for believing him. This is a great album so just listen to it and enjoy it if you already have.

Not Emo. Not Prog Rock. Pop-punk in outerspace, if you aske me.

Pop-punk in outerspace

That's the coolest thing I've ever seen/read.

I agree, Blink-182's s/t was much better than this stuff. From what I've heard, these guys are your generic pop-punk. They aren't really willing to go out and experiment, to try and make thier music great. They stick within the clearly defined boundaries, and give the fans exactly what they want. I personally don't like that.

The lyrics on some of these songs are mind-numbingly bad, or at least they sound so with the music. To me it sounds like Tom wrote the lyrics before/seperate the music and did his best to make them sound decent together.
He didn't do very well.

I feel like I can really relate to Tom. He lost two of his best friends. (Mark and Travis). The same thing happened to me this yeat, and it's the same deal where the other two are still friends. But it's not like I hate them, and I'm not sure what they think of me, just like with Tom. Being a huge fan blink fan, It was nice to hear from one of the guys.

If anybody actually believed Tom's hype, they should be shot. You're the guy known for catchy hooks and fart jokes. Not the guy who writes timeless masterpieces.
I might check this out if one of my friends gets it or something, but I don't have any desire to buy it.

Tom didn't lose his two best friends, they broke up. It's not like they died.

Blink's S/T still sucks.

I just want to make sure no one thinks that I thought AVA were prog or anything.

I think that list of Rhapsody genres is the most fucked up genre list in the entire store.

Has it occurred to anybody else that The Adventure is just totally ripped off both U2's Pride (In The Name Of Love) and The Cult's She Sells Sanctuary?
And Tom's voice is just utterly nauseating on this album, along with his terrible, terrible lyrics.
