I'm just missing the excellent features he used to have like Garm and Akerfeldt, but then all his albums since the first two have been far more interesting musically so I guess he doesn't feel he needs to rely on features anymore

Devin was on Eremita.
|

This is not good
no breakdowns = 1/5

Oh yeah, I still haven't heard Eremita properly actually. Don't think that song itself was as good as Unhealer or Homecoming but still a great feature
|
| |
Eremita is probably my favorite from Ihsahn. You should get on it.
This is the best metal album I've heard so far this year. I'm hoping it picks some steam up around here.

Yeah damn. I was huge on angL in the day but I fell off the wagon for ages. Really glad I decided to hear this today.
|
| |
angL was ok, but Unhealer was great for sure. i agree he should do more collabs like that

my favourite Mikael vocals ever tbh such a tune
|
| |
yea it's up there for sure. his vocals seem way more intense on other projects, like Crimson and Brave Murder Day
|
| |
What's your favorite track on this one right now, Rowan?
"Crooked Red Line" or "Celestial Violence" for me.

@Key I feel like maybe it's him being pushed out of his comfort zone? I haven't heard Crimson but BMD had his best harsh vocals by far
@guest I might have to give it to South Winds right now but I'll need a lot more listens to fully process it. From first impression though this is my favourite project of his, just a teeny bit ahead of After
|
| |
Mildly interested in this. I quite liked After.
|

dude row u gotta hear Crimson. it's arguably Swano's best record and it has probably the nastiest Mikael vox ever. dude legit sounds like a demon on it

Did someone say Opeth???
No but seriously this is so enjoyable, blend of so much cool shit!
|

This reminds me of the kind of metal I would have loved to listen to when I used to hate heavier stuff. Not bad, all in all.
