excellent review, agree on all points and said points are well described.
i remember when the first single came out on youtube i commented "this song has no direction and doesnt really go anywhere." to which someone replied "music doesnt have to go in any direction."
which is true but when it does, it has much more impact.
also, yndi halda's latest release surpasses this by a lot tbh

My early impression of this is that it might be my favorite Explosions yet.
They were never my favorite band or anything, but this could easily be a 3.5-4

Mine was that it was their best since All Of The Sudden, but it grew off a bit since then. Definitely one of my favorites of theirs though. Nothing can top Earth.

This grew and grew with every listen for me and it still is growing. Though my first impressions of it were pretty damn negative.

The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place is absolutely their best with All Of Us Sudden I Miss Everyone as a close second. I didn't realize this was out already. Gonna check it out now.
