i've listened to every album of theirs except Raditude, although I haven't listened to the entirety of Red, which I plan to change soon
Make Believe is my least favorite album of theirs, all comes down to personal opinion/preference I suppose

i'll have to do that considering how much I tend to love Weezer when I think they're good
I absolutely agree, it is definitely one of the best seasons of tv of all time and Harrelson is amazing too but jesus lord Mcconaughey knows it out of the fucking park, one of the greatest performances i've ever seen
I watched 2 episodes of Season 2 and was done, although i've been planning on watching all of it soon. but my god those 2 episodes were excruciating

In general and on True Detective

Rust was just a pretty obvious parody of ""deep"" characters that talk a lot of bullshit but never really say anything. People always seem to miss the inherent humour in the exchanges between the two characters and just focus on the shit Rust says like it's actually meaningful - TIME IS A FLAT CIRCLE BRO GET WITH IT

also, Woody's emotional character scenes with his family require more range than anything Mc had to do

i think the convos between the two of them are absolutely hysterical and i do think the biggest reason for that is Harrelson's reactions to the shit Rust says. I can totally understand and respect preferring Marty, but for me just the intensity, the way he sells the monologues, and ESPECIALLY his crying breakdown in the finale just put Rust as my favorite
seriously that breakdown ripped my fucking heart out

he played the breakdown extremely well for sure but Woody had just as many moments that brought those feels if you took the time to invest in his family storyline

glad someone else sees the humour though and doesn't just eat up all the rust quotes like they're fucking shakespeare or something

i do agree with you there Rowan, there's just a like coiled performative quality to mcconahey's performance that I personally prefer
as for the quotes yeah i think a lot of it is hilarious although there is some that i also think is well-written
the production on this album is great agreed

that was a 8/10 treb, nice

Not saying TD was badly written (there is no second season btw) just that a lot of people I know focus on the wrong aspects IMO when talking about why it was so good and it's frustrating
