every time I remember this is a thing and consider putting it back in my 2016 top 50, I actually give it another spin and then it just doesn't hit me as hard



imo this was one of those "early in the year releases that's awesome then but doesn't stand out as the year goes on" kind of albums

really hoping for this band to breakout in the future though

last two tracks save this from being a 3.5 aha. best: I Can't Sleep, The Hand Strikes..., I Still Can't Sleep, A Constant State of Despair, and Ukume. the rest are kind forgettable but 5 solid fucking jams with really no bad songs is def good enough for me. might sneak on my top 25

Yeah in retrospect it's a little rough around the edges, especially in the middle, but I still love it to death. The last 4 tracks will probably keep me from ever lowering my rating.
