"yeah what are you drinking ed, hot piss?"
Jeez Piglet, just bumpin heads with guitarted here, it's a thing that happens every other month or so. So far nobody got hurt.
Sry if I was being more rude than usual. I guess there are a lot of dumb people out there who just like to hate on kanye because of his tweets and his weird mannerisms and that is indeed stupid. I kinda thought you were aiming this statement at arcade who imo did a very good job explaining why he didn't like this album that much and that's why I attacked it. However I totally admit that I jumped to conclusions there.

My theory is if you took the four best songs on any of his albums (maybe not 808) and expanded the rest of the tracklist with that quality then they'd justify all the hype and high ratings.
Yeezus is a case in point, Black Skinhead/Blood on the Leaves/New Slaves and the final minute or so of I Am God spread across the whole album would have been a 4.5/5.

I fall somewhere comfortably between liking this a lot and wishing it was a better structured album.

Not a hip-hop fan in the slightest, but it's been interesting to watch this trainwreck. Definitely the best review I've read for this, mental pos

"upon which Drake has based most of his career on."
might wanna remove the "on" at the end, seems kinda redundant that way. Review is killer overall tho

Come on Kanye, you had a chance to do this

Quality review, I definitely agree with all of the points. I just think the highs on the album are high enough for replay value. We will see if that is the case.

I just don't get how he got from his most consistent album of all time (MBDTF) to this.
The lyrical complexity of that record and the overall quality is incomparable to this. I actually think he wrote this entire album (with the exception of "Wolves") in the last month or so before release. He's been too preoccupied with the fashion industry these last two years and I think he massively lost focus in his music in the meantime.
Hopefully he will actually take the proper time to write his next album cause this is disappointing af.

Also, why the fuck didn't Kanye write a verse or two for Fade? Would have closed the album at least a lot stronger.

Very good review mate, pretty much sums up some of my feelings about this album.
I've enjoyed listening to this over the last few days (the first two tracks are phenomenal), but I can't help the feeling that the album is half-baked.
Really frustrating, as I want to love this...

The times when he just goes off on current hip-hop tropes (like Facts) fail to excite me. There's a fair bit of that here.
