Well, the cheese is to be expected. If someone's never liked Avantasia, they're not likely to view this any differently.

Songs like Draconian Love are definitely high on the cheese factor, but you're right--there's a charm to it. And the music isn't bad overall.

Tobias calls it bombastic rock, anyway. If one cannot stand it when music goes down that route, this won't change a thing.

Mystery of a Blood Red Rose, Master of the Pendulum and the title track should be in every top X power metal songs.

Yeah, those are all very good. There some pretty bad songs on here which are making it hard for me to rate this album.

Some cool moments, but in the end too cheesy for me, unfortunately :/

This is the best Avantasia album ever, just like every other album

This is their best since Wicked Symphony for me.

This is peak Avantasia to me. Wicked Symphony and Metal Opera Pt. 2 are right behind it though.

Yeah I enjoy this album. The cymbals sound absolutely terrible. I think they could have done a much better job with the production. This album really deserves the most polished production possible.

Let the Storm Descend Upon You is quality. Another worthy addition to their 'epic' pieces like The Scarecrow and The Seven Angels.

It's not a surprising album, though. Just more consistent Avantasia.

Yeah, definitely my AOTY for now.

Brought a non-metalhead friend to this and he liked it for its "melodic side", as he said.

This could very well be an entry point for that category.

Yeah this is easily my AOTYSF. 2016 has been great for releases so far, hopefully it lasts all year.
