When it at least comes to music, even with genres most of the time, Wikipedia is rarely inaccurate. At least nowadays, I'm sure like pre-2010 there was good reason to mistrust it's info.

I meant they're sticklers at rym, not the other way around.
I won't lie the idea of editing without moderation still makes me turn my nose up.

Lyrically Book Of Regrets fits in nicely with Hand Cannot Erase but maybe it was left off because it was slightly too upbeat.

Solid indeed. Leaves me hungry for more though. I don't feel like there's a whole lot to unpack like his longer releases though, which is kind of disappointing.

I'm not a massive fan of Ninet's chorus on Don't Hate Me, her voice just doesn't fit with the rest of the song. The original is pretty much perfect. If they have to force her onto an old PT song why didn't they pick Way Out Of Here or something, I think her voice would fit the chorus more on that.

I suspect the band just loves jamming to that song so much, that SW wanted to stick it on the record. Adding ninet to the chorus adds more "difference" that justifies the inclusion on this EP.
At least that's what I suspect SW is thinking

I know it's something to play live and whatnot but it just feels completely unnecessary, surely he could've just thrown the Ninet solo version of Routine on there. The rest of the songs feel like they fit with Hand Cannot Erase and maybe some of his other solo work in some way but Don't Hate Me sticks out like a sore thumb.

The bit about it sticking out is true. I like it because I miss PT dearly

Same man, I read an interview earlier and Steven was asked about a PT reunion, he basically said that he's open to it but he feels like they've accomplished their mission and there's no reason to do it again.

if SW wanted ninet to sing on a PT track it would definitly be sleep together
|

That's fine I guess. I just wish they would tour together and come to my town (New Orleans). I'd settle for him coming to New Orleans with his solo band, but they only seem to hit the major US cities

Haha smaugman you're probably right, though I am pretty sure Ninet is married. Anyway I think Sleep Together was written about Mikael Akerfeldt.

Did you get a chance to see him on his recent tour Emyay?

I know you weren't asking me but I did see him live last year, it was fantastic. Lazarus and Sleep Together were the only PT he played, but the highlights were the HCE songs, of which he played nearly the entire album. The visuals and lights were incredible and really added to the experience. With this and HCE and that amazing concert, the sadness of PT being no more has definitely lessened for me throughout 2015 for these reasons, especially since the electronic/industrial experimentations bleeding into the post-DW PT releases continued into Insurgentes, then morphed back into prog goodness with the following releases in the 2010s. The progression makes sense, but if he ever reunites PT in the future I'd of course be ecstatic.

Seeing him next week and judging by the recent setlists he plays HCE in its entirety, can't wait for that. I'm not too upset about PT as long as his solo work is solid. I think he's been closing with Sound Of Muzak recently.

I always read in interviews and reviews that 4 songs were written during H.C.E. and on during TRTRTS sessions, however, Happiness III goes back to the Deadwing days.

HCE has definitely resurrected the DW sound in some ways, and yeah he might've played one or two other PT songs besides the ones I mentioned. I don't really remember from a nearly 3 hour concert.
