This isn't bad, but I don't really understand why anyone would want to listen to it with any sort of regularity, save maybe for MD fanboys. The T/T sounds exactly like Hangar 18, which only makes you wish you were just listening to Rust in Peace instead.
And this is just a minor nitpick, but Mustaine sounds fucking horrible.

^ mainly the reason I don't even want to give this a listen, when I know I'll probably never listen to it again

It's a fun album. Of course they're not going to release a Rust in Peace Part II but I think this a highly enjoyable record.

There's pretty much no reason to listen to this when Endgame, Hangar 18, and Peace Sells exist. But then again, there's no reason to listen to Megadeth when Anthrax and Metallica exist, so.

Could not disagree more, those are all superior records but I like hearing new stuff, even if it doesn't live up to the bands classics, and this is a fun record for a band thats been kicking around for over 30 years.

I have a hard time justifying the new material when it sounds identical in tone, style and execution to the older stuff but doesn't have the same novelty or songwriting quality. At least with Supercollider Dave was doing something different (albeit horridly).

It's sort of like I could watch The Empire Strikes Back or I could watch Attack of the Clones.

I have the exact same problem with this as I do with Repentless and For All Kings. They're all perfectly competent thrash metal records in their own right, but essentially come across as little more than inferior versions of past releases.
This has 0 replay value whatsoever; it's an adequate thrash album with a legendary name attached to it, nothing more.
