"Just Us sounds like a leftover from Tribe"
It does have a "Falling Behind" or "Rhythm of Hope" kind of feel, but I find that to be a bit harsh. There are a few Tribe songs I'd take over some off of this (the super underrated "The Art of Life" above all), but I wouldn't compare the two albums. I think the t/t here is one of my favorite songs of the year.

why is that harsh Sabs? didn't mean it in a bad way as i though tribe was a decent album.....also, wasn't comparing the two albums, just the one song

Must be me giving too much negativity to the word 'leftover'. My bad, I'm always on the defensive side while speaking of Tribe.

I like it! It definitely has a bigger classic Queensryche vibe than the last one.

The fact that this and the last album were 3s is impressive on its own though.
They're both solid albums, but neither have much replay value.

I was looking for a song that impressed me as much as Vindication did and though I didn't find it, the album is pretty decent overall. Favorites: Hellfire, Eye9, Bulletproof. Guardian didn't quite do it for me lyrically.

Seems like people are enjoying Eye9 and Bulletproof a lot more than I do. It's interesting because those are my bottom two tracks here. This is a 3.8 as of now for me.
@beef: I kinda agree about the replay value. I'm obviously really liking this one but I'm quite sure this 4.0 is the max rating I'll ever give to it.

I gotta say, Guardian is really growing on me - Instrumentally, it's amazing and the chorus isn't as uninspired as I first thought.

is it just me or is Eye9 really sounds like Down with the Sickness at the beginning?

It does but I wouldn't have thought about it without your comment.

My thoughts exactly. Their previous album performed below expectations for me. This, in turn, went above them.

Agree, better than I expected. 3.5 seems about right to me as well. Hellfire is a favorite so far.

Must admit, bulletproof had grown on me. Not just the gorgeous guitar solo but the leads in the chorus are wonderful too.

Despite some good moments, the band no longer has a great composer like Chris.

Not going to lie, this could have been more solid especially in the middle. I recall La Torre said he would like to record longer songs.

I could make an argument that this begins as strong as their very best LPs!
