Thanks guys, yea it's a great outro. I do like how they did away with interludes here and just stuck one at the end of a track.

Nice review. Solid album. In the few listens I have been able to give it thus far, I would say that a few of the softer sections were not as musically engaging as similar passages in Sunbather. Not a huge critique, as I came for (and received) a metal record. Maybe it was the track sequencing? Not sure. Either way, digging this album and your write-up.

Thanks dude and all good I'm a sucker for post rock and textured stuff like that but this for the most part goes hard.

Love that they go darker on here. Not as outwardly anthemic as Sunbather, but glad they didn't try to replicate it. The more aggressive sections on here are definitely the highlights. The softer moments aren't as defined as they were on Sunbather.

I have to admit I do miss the little interludes. I know many didn't like them in Sunbather, but to me it seemed as a breather between songs to add to the experience

They were nice with the exception of this awful fucking noise in Please Remember lol but I generally prefer to not have interludes in general.

Understand the decision to avoid them. Could have potentially made New Bermuda feel a bit "samey", which seems counterintuitive to what Deafheaven is trying to do here. It's really a very minor complaint, because damn this album is great. They went darker to bracing effect, and I'm all about it.

Ehh. Still album of the year for me. But still inferior to Sunbather. I have a love for Sunbather I cannot describe.

New Bermuda may wear off of me. But there is something about Sunbather that whenever I hear a track off of it, my heart skips a beat and I must hear it and then go back and start at "Dream House" and listen to it from start to finish. And then I'm left in awe again, like I've never heard it before. Very few albums do that to me. And I think each time I listen to Sunbather, I feel like I like this album less, but each time I listen to this album in and of itself, I like it more that I thought I did after Sunbather. If that makes any sense. There are certain times you can feel an album is an instant classic, and Sunbather is one of those times. And I guess what I'm getting at is that New Bermuda is awesome and album of the year, but it's kinda the step-brother to Sunbather. Sunbather is the prodigal son and New Bermuda is the next-in-line 4.0 child who you love for its merits but it's nothing like its son you've known to love. Know wut I mean
Then in the end, the child you love the most hated you (hence "The Pecan Tree," but it's still my favorite by them). That's how I feel about these two albums.

So after listening to a couple songs I think this band worked much better as gazemetal found on Sunbather instead of what they went for on this album, sounds like generic BM.
