They only want it with the lights out.

I thought I heard him sing ragamuffin. He said ragamuffin in a song and decided they would call the song that. I do not approve of this silliness

It makes sense with the lyrical context though...
Ragamuffin definition: 1. a person, typically a child, in ragged, dirty clothes
Lyrics:
"This ragamuffin wants to follow you home?"
Obviously it's a weird sounding word but if you look at all the lyrics the song is probably a vague metaphor focusing around a ragamuffin

The repeated use of the word ragamuffin is another poor choice on an album chock full of them

Half way through and I love it. It feels very... precious in a way, maybe I'm making that up. Instrumentally It lacks the venom (as you noted) but it's more technical. It makes me think of albums from the 70's in it's scope.

I am a huge fan and i think im disappointed in this release. Feels like Neck of the woods outtakes to me

Album Rating: 4.5
This definitely isn't as good as Neck of the Woods, but it's a far cry from being outtakes too. There's no way that Tapedeck, Circadian Rhythm, Nightlight, Connection, etc wouldn't have made the cut on that record.

Friendly Fires is a great ballad-esque song.

I've grown to appreciate all the songs on this album. Their simplicity and atmosphere are really great for driving around town or reminiscing.
Nothing evoking like "Three Seed" or "Royal We" on here, but then I go to their respective albums if I want that.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. Songs I considered skippable at first have grown on me. I'm starting to like this as much as Swoon. Neck of the Woods is still the best though.

i dont like how they removed all the noise and replaced it with glitter

The songs would probably be more impactful if they were shoegazey, agreed.
YOU SET MEEEEE OOOOOOOOOOOFFF!!!!

Brian Auberts lyrics seem oddly centred around being naked and what kinds of clothes people are wearing. Tad bizarre how often he references those on this album lol

I noticed that too haha...I'm really curious as to what the songs actual mean though

Wow, average rating for this is getting too low. While this album isn't remarkable, it really is solid throughout and quite a grower.

"Neck of the Woods is still the best though."
Whoa. Quite the statement there Sowing.
