It really is a decent album even if it isn't as intense as their rest

This isn't nearly as disappointing as some people are making it out to be. I've been really short on time, but I do hope to push out my review for this tomorrow night.

Seriously why couldn't the doubled vocals in The Wild Kind become the lead at some point? It really would have made it that much better. Still a damn good song though, even if it took a few listens to fully appreciate.

Didn't notice that but now that you mention it, it would've been great to have the doubled vocals the lead...

"Sure there are some lackluster songs on this album like...Circadian Rhythm (Last Dance)"
you take that back right now. album is about what i suspected: fine, pleasant enough, something that exists. the pros and cons of being polished. i'll go back to it, like it for a few days, and forget it like the others. but Circadian Rhythm is your junior prom and it's fucking gorgeous.

Haha opinions are a bitch aren't they...I agree with you on some extent I really did love the back and forth vocal style between Nikki and Brian, but overall the song bored me after I heard it like 6 or 7 times...I just meant lackluster because it didn't build upon itself like some of the other songs on the album

I'm really digging this record. I think it's their most diverse to date but also one of their most tame. Not as many ear catching hooks and melodies as past records.

I'm trying to figure out if there is a loose concept behind this album or not. Based on a bit of the lyrical content, album art and name, there might be to some extent.

Also the music is great, but leaves me wanting more.

Yeah it leaves me wanting more too...and that's interesting I never thought of it as a concept album but there's probably some overarching themes

You know, I never listened to SSPU for the distorted guitars or fast-paced songs. I have other bands I can listen to for that stuff. What I care about from SSPU is that they keep their sort of haunting groove going, which they seem to have done here. My favorite songs are Connection, Nightlight, and Ragamuffin. But I like the amount of experimentation on the album. The transition felt very "natural" to me.
