Pretty strange idea tbh. But I will probably enjoy this more than the original.

Edit: Checked three songs, and Ryan Adams is still very good at covering things. But the incredibly vapid lyrics become even more hilarious with his earnest and heartfelt delivery. (Shake it off for example would be really cool with some half-decent lyrics)

"There’s nothing tossed off about the slow burn of “Shake It Off,” its echoes of Springsteen providing the perfect backdrop for Swift’s ascendant lyrics, more of a weary affirmation of a fuck-up continuing to do what he’s always done rather than a fist-in-the-air anthem."

Think that summarizes Shake it off perfectly; including the lyrics. I totally get that vibe from the song.

Review perfectly summarizes how I feel about this.

For being all covers, this feels pretty fresh and different. Also loving the Springsteen vibe.

This is pretty good so far. Still liking TS' version better, but still. It's different for sure.

This album made me like "Bad Blood" and that makes me uncomfortable.

Ryan should cover Reign in Blood in its entirety. He's supposedly a huge Slayer fan, so just make it happen m/

He's got the chops to play guitar, something more Metal oriented would be great.

Yeah, "Orion" isn't great. Great concept, but... could sure be better.

Ha, funnily enough, when I saw him live in 2007 (with the Cardinals), the band started chugging a thrash riff, then suddenly stopped, and Ryan said something like "God, why can't we be a metal band?". Awesome.
