listening now

these two new songs sound like theyre trying too hard to be real kvlt bm and downplaying what made sunbather special. that wasnt a perfect record by any stretch of the imagination, but it blew up for a reason. new songs arent bad but are sounding p generic

Yeah kinda getting that same kind of feeling. Band should embrace what they had going rather than try to prove themselves to the naysayers

the gazy-post rocky parts are nice but sound super sunbathery, and the blasty parts just sound like basic post-bm

i will say the clean second half of the new song is nice. acoustic gtr was a good addition, and there wasnt a big "IM DYING" climax like i was expecting

brought to the water was great, but I really wasn't feeling this new song. As long and repetitive as the songs on Sunbather were, there was an unidentifiable quality that made them work. I agree with climactic. It sounds like they are trying too hard to appease the black metal crowd, and are losing what made them great. This song is an identity crisis I've ever heard one.

2 mins in and i wish they'd have put the melodic lead a little higher in the mix. It wants to be like snbthr so bad but they're trying to keep the melody subtle, which is cool, but the first two minutes coulda been major epic melodiezzz

Also the second half off the song was pretty, but it definitely overstayed its welcome.

The first song was amazing. If the ending of this second track were shorter and more explosive, it could have been just as impressive as the first track. And I absolutely agree about the vocals. They sound fantastic.

they weirdly remind me more of Dani Filth, but I think they work better with the music than the whinier ones on Sunbather. Definitely an improvement tho I liked the rawer bm vox on the demo and Judah the most.

I'm fucking loving the new track. It's better than the first, in my opinion. The second half is so warm.

I love the second half, there's some great drum fills and the guitarwork is sublime.
