I gave this a fairly focused listening and it was, for the most part a complete mess. Occasionally the various parts have a decent flow, but most of the time they're really disjointed and not in an awesome psychotic way like TMV. I get the feeling these guys are putting to record whatever sounds the most epic/prog to them without trying to make the songs flow in the first place (it looks like the reviewer agrees...)

and before you play that silly card... I'm not going to play this once more to "get" it. More listening might make me enjoy this more, but the quality of the music and its issues remain.

I was talking about native construct's album actually. Havent listened to this properly yet. This kind of music is mostly a case of 'u love it or u hate it', there is no middle ground.

I think the two albums are very similar, but regardless that much is true. I admit progressive metal (and this style in particular) is probably one of my most reviled genres anyway...

This sounds like it could actually be a very enjoyable BTBAM album for me. I will get on it since I actually like their cleans and theatrics.

Does it actually have real songs instead of 12 minute wank fests?

Longest track is only 10 minutes, but there is plenty of wanking to be found.

I'm hearing a heavy Porcupine Tree influence on the opening track.
