honestly i haven't really explored the genre very thoroughly. i've only listened to the alternative stuff like miguel, the weeknd, frank, how to dress well, blood orange, james blake, and probably some more. so yeah i'm barely scratching the surface. but i just picked up that new Jazmine Sullivan album and i still haven't checked the new D'Angelo so those will be next for me

So after a couple more listens, this is around 3.5 for me. There's a decent amount a variety here which definitely bodes well. Out of the newer tracks, 'Leaves' is one of my favourites. I dunno, this guy is capable of crafting some sensational songs (Coffee, Adorn, Teach Me etc), so it's a bit annoying when you hear mediocre ones.
