I enjoyed their first LP a bit but found myself only ever going back to one song (I can't remember what it's called... so that says a bit). I chanced upon your review and when I saw you said it was somber and atmospheric I decided I had to give it a go. I listened to it once through, bought the cd and I've been listening to it quite a bit since. Miles ahead of their debut for me. This album is gorgeous.

I was rather unimpressed with their first record, but I'm really digging this, reminds me of the XX.

Thanks fellas. Glad those who have listened are enjoying it as much as me. It's such a pleasant surprise given I was expecting a bland rehash of their first album. I thought they'd follow the Mumford and Sons pattern but they've proven themselves to not be a sales-obsessed, narrow visioned group which makes me happy.

boring imagery or not (which I disagree) Nanna's voice is melt-worthy here and they've improved musically, thematically, and lyrically.

Sowing, if I didn't like the first LP at all (rating 2-2,5) is this worth checking out, or is it more of the same pretty much?

Review is a great read, you talk about a pretty significant shift in sound, but just how significant is it?

Significant for them but not a genre change. Imagine the last album with better lyrics and a more subdued sound, but still some cheese. If the last was a 2.5 for you, I'm guessing this is a 3.
