Album Rating: 4.0 | Sound Off
Call me different, but I almost fully disagree with this review in regards to the lyircs, second half of Drones, and The Globalist. Sure, Drones is not the Muse of old, however, it is not absolutely garbage like its sounding in this review. I do agree, Revolt is just pop wankery at its finest, and that Reapers, The Handler, and Dead Inside are all great tracks. Regarding the lyrics, I hear over and over again, how they sacrificed poetry and great lyrics for the lyrics on the album. Its a concept album! Drones are making life terrible and simplistic, maybe thats the point? Yes, after Defector, Drones slows down a bit. Aftermath sounds incredible, and Drones sounds heavenly. We already had a lot of hard-fledged Muse in album, so a slowdown is expected. The Globalist I thought was incredible! It sets up a interesting setting for the planet, and before anything can be done to the crazy dictator, he goes nuts and blows up everything. Guess what? If I remember right, it doesn't take that long to blow up stuff. Like the craziness in the song. It takes a while to accept things that have happened, just like the end of the song does. I think the story is amazing, and The Globalist totally fits everything. Why does it have to be an Exogenesis? Look forward to new stuff instead of looking at the past. Jeez, if everyone looks at it that way, how are we supposed to look forward with music? Album was good, I was impressed.
