Steve and Scott are both really great on their own, such talented fucks. no wonder Neurosis is like the best band ever.

Ha! argonaut - It's certainly a contender.
Agreed with Totengott. I didn't think he could top If I Should Fall to the Field, but I think he has with this album. This is a solid mix of pretty much everything the man is made of.

I haven't heard any of his previous solo stuff, but since this is so great I definitely plan on giving them a try.

They're worth your time, argonaut. I think If I Should Fall to the Field is the best of his previous work. A Grave is a Grim Horse has some excellent tunes as well.

Album sounds like the soundtrack to walking through an endless landscape with gloomy weather.

^agreed. The mastery of desolate atmosphere present in Neurosis' music definitely translates to Scott Kelly and this guy's solo work. It's maybe not as crushing, but it's still there.

Same for me. It's still growing on me. I like how he merges his folk and experimental influences on this album. Do you have a favorite track at this point?

Tough to choose. Probably either the title track or Night Of The Moon, at this point.

Yeah. The title track is certainly one of my favorite tracks here, along with Birch Bark Box. Every song has something noteworthy about it though.
