Yeah Zak, out of the big three comebacks so far in 2015 (FNM, Blur, Modest Mouse) I'm finding this the most unconvincing by far. Saw them last year at Hyde Park and they were poor too, Patton wasn't at it, they got blown away by Soundgarden and Chris Cornell who played all of Superunknown and were a different class.

Album is fine. The "vocals" problem is probably because the music was all done in one studio then tje vocals were done later in a completely different studio.

After praying to this album for over a month I still do not see any redeeming qualities that they set when they were considered "big". Umh

So in the end this gets the same rating as Album of the Year, this is slightly more consistent and atmospheric but AOTY has a couple of songs better than anything here (Ashes to Ashes, Stripsearch). My three favourites here are Superhero, Cone of Shame and Matador.

gotta be honest, wasn't expecting the next "real thing" and I got pleasantly surprised. Nice haunting atmospheres.. good shit.
Also sounds like FNM but still completely different to their previous records. Really nice comeback
