I own this one, I've only listened to it once. It doesn't seem to stick.

I felt the same exact way about it at first. Give it a few listens and it should grow on you within a week or so. The only song I still don't like here is "Asension," which I find incredibly boring.

I always find this album better than I remember it...hard to decide if this or Below the Lights is better. Tomorrow i'm gonna get Blodhemn.

This took awhile with me as well, but now I listen to this daily. An album of greatness. Neogenesis and Ascension are godly.

^^^Thats make me sad ;)

Hey Crysis,

maybe "Frost" "Eld" "Vikingligr Veldi" "Blodhemn" & "Mardraum - Beyond the Within" albums are much in the style you like, give it try, im pretty you will like them.

Last 3 albums by Enslaved are more Prog

& stay away from "Monumension" , its not very good, only average.

Strangely good guitar(+keyboards) melodies are the foundation of this album.

This is weird metal in a good sense.

Enslaved are good with "what i called deconstruction & reconstruction of melodies".

For sure, its a band for explorers of metal music.

Love this album so much. Violent Dawning and Return To Yrggsdal were alone worth the purchase. Hard to find in stores? I got it at best buy so a bit odd thereForgot to add this guy to my awesome metal clean vocalist list. This Message Edited On 07.16.08

I remember saying that at one point too^^^hahaha. I would classify these guys as more viking metal than anything else. Check out Eld by these guys.
