His debut is in my opinion the most influential "guitar" record of the last 30 years. His neo-classic amazing technique is quite unique. Extreme influential to thousands of bands worldwide.
Like it or not (and sometimes his character doesn't help) Malmsteen's Black Star or Far Beyond the Sun are absolute masterpieces.

Agreed, he cloned his own formula over and over again, but his first 5 albums are all worth buying, specially Rising Force, Marching Out and Trilogy.
