They were definitely aiming for the American sound and having Feldmann produce it only increased the similarities. He managed to make it less apparent on previous one, though...

Just checked this out cause this band have been getting more popular here in America. I honestly enjoyed Take me to the top, Cry out, and Mighty long fall but the second half of the album ranged from completely forgettable to awful. I also listened to Jinsei x Boku and it was far better than this. Gonna have to check out some more of their older stuff.

I'm happy I've been to a show before giving them the opportunity to play anything from this. [2]

I was shocked to see this band who had a couple of singles I loved like "Dreamer" and "Liar" touring with terrible bands like ATL and Sleeping With Sirens.
Man this album is a perfect example of a band "selling out". It's so weird they were already pretty successful, not sure why they totally abandoned all interesting musical ideas to just appeal to a western audience. Kinda sad.

Actually Taka wanted to perform stuff like this before the album was even made...unfortunately.

Yes, the fact they adore many bland pop-punk bands from America is their downfall.

Yeah that's probably true. The American punk/alt scene is mostly bad Japan, especially the mainstream, stay creative!
Or at least stay decent haha...There are a ton of skate/melodic punk bands from Japan who aren't amazing but just very good. Like on YT I've probably found about 70 of them, there's an actual punk scene there that's healthier than anything the US has seen since the 90s/early 2000s. Of course there is some bad too.
But there are literally only like 5 or 6 punk bands in their prime right now that I even like in the west. I think we should be taking lessons from other countries to be honest..Also John Feldmann needs to stop influencing bands.

...And the new album sounds even worse. Band is dead.

Taka wrote some of the tracks from Aimer's latest album, Daydream. I'm actually surprised that he chooses to produce mediocre albums, because Daydream sounds like an excellent album.
He wrote 5 tracks out of 13 from Daydream which can be seen from here:

If you want to check, track: 1, 4, 10, 11, 13

I quite liked this tbh. It's very hit or miss, and felt like Jinsei x Boku with 2 or 3 really shitty tracks added in (Paper Planes, Good Goodbye). I really like the choruses though, especially on Mighty Long Fall and Memories. Also, all of tracks 1-8 absolutely kill it live.
