I wouldn't consider The Dark Side of the Moon a messy or disjointed album, and my problem with MMLP2 is not just that some of the songs are bad or 'boring'. It's that it has a rather consistent style but then throws in tracks like Berzerk, Stronger than I Was etc, which are NOT ONLY arguably kinda bad but break the immersion of the album and provide these "Wait, what?" kind of moments, which could've been avoided just by not including those songs on this particular project.
That's the main reason why I don't really like this as an overall project, which is something you may not agree with but it's not worth getting your panties in a bunch about. And no matter how many times you tell me RTJ is'mediocre' that's not gonna stop me from enjoying it a lot more than this, even after removing those tracks. That's my last word on the issue here, see you around :^)

Dark Side is the complete opposite of a disjointed album, it flows perfectly to the point where it's basically one big 43 minute song
|
| |
yeah i don't like some songs as much as others but it definitely doesn't have the same issues as MMLP2, that's a really strange comparison

there are plenty of good songs in this, anything hard to comprehend about that?

"I really don't understand how someone can love this album. I mean...come on. "
Ignoring the fact that you have a Jonas Brother album rated 4.5, this is the most nostalgic new album
i've ever heard, its basically non-stop nostalgia.

what is your problem with Berzerk? I see what you mean in general, but I think Bezerk fits into the album fine.

I think it's one of the most jarring and unnecessary tracks here; I recognise it's kind of like a Without Me or Just Lose It for 2013 though and don't really think it's a bad song in itself.

Lmao. I don't understand how Majesty can have a 5.0 for Cryptopsy's None So Vile (deserving), then have a 5.0 Jesse McCartney album. What a bunch of shit. I agree with LambsBread here, generally though. It's a great, nostalgic album. However, I just simply don't like Berzerk. I don't like the sample, and overall, to me, the song kinda sounds like shoes in a dryer. The verses lyrics aren't bad, but the chorus makes me cringe from the lyrics and melody. If someone else likes it though, I don't give a shit. More power to 'em haha.

Also, where the hell are my votes?

Oh dear, I came back to this and I like it a lot more than I remember. I'd still prefer it without the songs I mentioned, but with them it's actually kinda... so all over the place that I'm kind of okay with it; at least it's consistent in its inconsistency, or something... anyway this is a good album, and better than Mac's album. Congratulations Lambs, you won, it was all worth it...
It's a shame ShadyXV was still a lot worse than this, but I think he could keep making good music from here on out.

@SWC Okay I'll actually read this review now aha
Pos'd but there's a grammar error in your summary

"Congratulations Lambs, you won, it was all worth it..." gotta be the first time anyone said that on
this site lol
yeah dude theres this weird indescribable corny-yet-cool 80s feel to this album that I didn't get at
first.
ShadyXV also grew on me a lot.

Zakalwe's first comment was cringeworthy.
|

agreed he's often 'cringe inducing' but this album is good, also listened to the first MMLP yesterday and had to up it to a 5... even though I don't really like Eminem as an artist I gotta give respect where it's due, and he's put out some quality stuff, particularly in his early years (Encore, Relapse and Recovery still suck)
