I heard a few tracks from this and it sounded pretty interesting, but as people have been saying, it's very awkward.

Gave this album another try, and it's just as bad this month.
The production and playing is so random and disjointed, and not in a progressive way; it just sounds amateurish and hastily slapped together. The timing of the instrumentation is god awful, and the actual song writing is absolutely horrible.

maybe they're ignoring the standards of conventional songwriting and you're just so indoctrinated from listening to so many bands like that that you can't find any enjoyment in something different

lol

every part of this album is sloppy
ignoring basic theory because you dont know any better =/= experimentalism

I've just heard Gazing Into Melted Night. that wasn't a song, that was a mess. bands today just focus on sounding like their kvlt influences and forget that the only thing that's important is to actually write a proper song. writing good riffs doesn't mean shit if you can't put them together.
"it's like dillinger if they played osdm"

I don't mind what I heard, but the guitar part from 16 to 19 seconds in Gazing into Melted Night is a really bad way to start the album because I feel pain everytime I hear it. I like the rest of the track though, especially from little after the first minute mark.

I'm enjoying how loose and weird this is. The riffing is pretty solid, and most of the leads are actually pretty enjoyable.

First comment on this provides some insight on their intentions with making this, it's by the main songwriter

jesus christ, I just heard the rest of this, some of it is almost unbearable hahahaha
lol Talons that was kinda sad actually. trying to explain why your music doesn't suck in a comment section of a blog review of your album :[
@snoxall I wasn't talking just about them, but generally, and I was mostly referring to the sound, not the songwriting (which is the actual problem here). so many bands can't write a decent song, but as long as they sound old school it's great to most of the fans. and idk, that song I heard started pretty Gorement-y, so it made me say what I said. but yea, it started to turn to shit pretty fast. maybe you think they're trying something different, but I just hear a bunch of really poor, standard dm riffs, put together horribly.
that Acherontas album was really sweet tho, so cheers for that! :D

He's not "explain[ing] why [his] music doesn't suck" at all. He's giving factual corrections of things the reviewer got wrong. There's no opinion in that. He never said the album is better for the corrections, and it's not, but the reviewer wrote incorrect statements and the band member is correcting them.

The abrupt time signature and tempo changes are a bit bizarre but this is actually pretty solid. I love the tone of the guitar and drums, the vocals are kinda meh but what can you expect with osdm

Never got all the dislike on this, music seems alright to me. Its not a masterpiece for sure but there's far worse out there than this.
