Candlelight years Opeth has their best acoustic lines, their grimness and sinister atmosphere are most of the album highlights

Great review Mongi, your summary just nails it! Just got this one on Saturday, my voyage of discovery through the Opeth discography has come to an end finally. Orchid, just like Morningrise, has a very special feeling and atmosphere to it. Great harmonies and riffs on here for sure, will take my time to fully grasp this awesome piece of work.

Twilight and Apostle are amazing, I also love how Weeping Moon just jams out on acoustic guitar for its entire middle section.

Forest of October also has incredible clean and acoustic breaks. Those are probably most of my favorite moments of the album.

Incredible album. A hard 4, pretty close to a 4.5. Might have to bump it eventually.

I think every song has its golden moments just think this needed a bit of trimming down, to many riffs

Album Rating: 4.0
I think trimming it down would somehow destroy its magic. It's perfect as it is despite or maybe even because of its flaws.
