Aww snap I thought this band broke up a
long time ago. Might give this a go for old
times sake. Eidolon used to be my jam
back in the day.

This had better be good. Or else.

Feathergun was a beautiful mix of Karnivool and Mars Volta, is this similar at all?

I wouldn't exactly say it sounds like Feathergun. This record stands out from what they've done just like Eidolon

Definitely a grower... the record needs to be listened as a whole... I was skeptical at first, but this is a beautiful creation...

Does not resemble at all Feathergun, much less Eidolon... this has a sound of its own, might be inclined to say that this sounds just like what they always tried to achieve...

It rocks. Only songs I can't get into much are the opener and Dead Rope Machine. 2014 for prog has been a pretty crap year, undeniably - Rishloo's comeback is absolutely welcomed. Humble guys and fantastic musicianship. Agree with the not-so-bombastic production (especially drums) but unless you have great budgets behind recording a live drumset you can hardly make something awesome

Great review. I like that you actually took some time to dive into some of the lyrics, especially since they're so good - definitely one of the standout elements on this album.

The one thing I disagree with is, I absolutely love "Just a ride". It's one of my favorite tracks on the album, both lyrically and musically - it's a more personal-themed song that speaks about themselves as a band and ends on a positive note for the future, which makes it I think the best song to end this album with.

Thanks dude. I've always liked their lyrics but they certainly came off as cheesy at times especially on Eidolon. Not here though salutations is amazing
