WOW shitstorm of butthurt. my whole point was to make my review at least more entertaining than this EP (because it's boring af). if i failed woops. and yes i included plenty of valid criticism? this isn't a troll review.

If you think this kind of "writing" makes reviews more entertaining well....you're just fucking wrong. Your job is to review the album so review it. Don't attempt failed humor constantly all the while basically slandering the band because you hate it. A review isn't entertainment, it's informative. Inform.

I mean, he doesn't succeed in that aspect, but being entertaining means more people are likely to read your reviews. you could be the most informative writer on the site, but if no one enjoys reading your stuff then it kinda defeats the purpose of it.

here's what you could gather reading linearly through my review. a guide to my points through the obnoxious unfunny humor:



1. the song choices on the ep are horrible

2. the songs are all in this boring r&b style

3. this is a tyler carter ep, not an issues ep

4. nothing interesting musically happens on any of the songs

5. "disappear" features the best vocal performance by tyler carter

6. the guest on "tears" has a great voice and is well placed

7. "diamond dreams" is listenable - mixing "princeton ave" and "her monologue"

8. "never lose your flames" is ruined because of neck deep's singer guesting on it

9. neck deep's singer has an awful voice

10. too much autotune

11. tyler carter's rapping is hilariously bad

12. songs like "king of amarillo" and "hooligans" are ruined and turned into generic sugary top 40 pop with no intensity at all

13. some of tyler's lyrics are cringeworthy

14. at least it didn't include michael bohn, probably would have made this EP worse

Christ, if I wanted to choose between masturbating to a crucifix or skimming through this review day and night, I'd pick the former. How stiff and humorless.

yeah I do think you can entertain through a review but when he utterly fails at it and spends more time trying to be funny than actually informing, there becomes a problem. Informing is still the number one pursuit of reviewing imo at least.
